commuterville

A high-density housing development built close to a major transit corridor, usually a mass transit line (subway, BART, LIRR, etc.) Often as densely built-up as downtown residences in major cities, despite being located where buildings are otherwise rather spread out. Commutervilles also tend to feature smaller units and/or higher rents than more traditional housing in the same area.

pointful

Antonym for "pointless"; viz., able to, or meant to, achieve some outcome. An action is pointful if there is some reason for performing it.

Since "pointless" already has various approximate antonyms, it's worth pointing out (heh) how they differ from "pointful":
* "Purposeful" connotes a sense of determination or resolute zeal in the action's performance, whereas "pointful" refers only to the action's consequences.
* "Worthwhile" implies that benefits, however defined, outweigh costs. For instance, spending 41 cents' postage to redeem a 25-cent rebate would be pointful but not worthwhile.
* "Justified" occurs principally in logical arguments, appealing to either scientific or moral principles.
